Peters, Nellie (Marriage – 5 May 1942)

The ceremony which united in marriage Miss Nellie Peters and Roland Sharratt was performed in Corpus Christi Catholic Church of Bakerville at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5th, amid a scene of lighted candles and baskets of snapdragon and mixed flowers. The Rev. Arthur Cramer officiated. About a hundred guests witnessed the double-ring ceremony. The church choir furnished the music.

The bride was dressed in a gown of brocaded silk, fashioned with a long train. She wore a finger-tip veil and carried a bouquet of pink talisman roses.

Mrs. Albert Schecklrman, Loyal; acts as maid of honor. She was dressed in a gown of blue sheer, wearing a blusher veil and a halo of flowers in her hair. Her bouquet was made up of pink and white carnations. Mr. Schecklman and John Peters were best man.

The bride’s mother wore navy blue crepe while the groom’s mother was dressed in black crepe, both wearing gladioli corsages.

Forty guests were present for the reception, which was held at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Peters, at Chili. The house decorations were in white, blue and yellow streamers and white wedding bells.

The couple left on a ten day wedding trip which included visits to Des Moines, Ia., Chicago, Milwaukee and Appleton. The bride’s going-away suit was aqua blue and beige. Upon their return, they will make their home in Granton.

The out-of-town guests included, Mr. and Mrs. Erza Sharratt, and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Gilbrids, Chicago; Mrs. Alice Golden, Theodore School, Frank Van Dettwettering, Kaukauma, Mrs. Joy Dyer, and Mrs. Ed. Koepke, Eldorado, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sharratt and Mercedes, Neillsville, Rev. Father Arthur Cramer, Bakerville.
