Beaver, Richard Michael (6 Feb. 1928 – 2 Oct. 1997)

Loyal – Richard Michael “Stubb” Beaver, 69, of 500 S. Main St., Loyal, died at 3:04 p.m., Oct. 2, 1997, in the Emergency Room of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rinka Funeral Home. A prayer service will begin at 7 p.m.

Mr. Beaver was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Loyal, to Bernard J. Sr. and Rosetta (Ryan) Beaver. He married Franziska Elpert on Sept. 24, 1963, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby.

He was born, raised and educated in the Loyal area. After his schooling, Mr. Beaver worked for the city of Loyal, the August Witt Elevator and the O. W. Trinidal Elevator. He then served for six years in the military from 1955 to 1958 and again from 1961 to 1964. After his return from the service, he married and worked for the Loyal Public Schools for 30 years. He resided in Loyal until his death.

He enjoyed camping, traveling and playing cards.

He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 175 of Loyal, and the Good Sam Club.

Surviving are his daughter, Mary Elpert (Jerry) Mattison of Osseo; two grandchildren; his sister, Sylvia (Jack) Pickett of Spencer and two brothers, Bernard J. Beaver Jr. and Ronald D. Beaver, both of Milwaukee.

He was predeceased by his wife on Sept. 22, 1997, and by his parents.
