Lenz, Katheryn (Marriage – 11 June 1936)

A very pretty wedding took placee Thursday, June 11th, at the home of the bride’s parents, Rev. L. C. Smith reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Wilma Katheryn Lenz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theo. H. Lenz, of Colby, became the bride of Mr. Gerhard Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Anderson of Abbotsford. Miss Adelit Anderson, the groom’s sister, acted as bridesmaid and the groom was attended by the bride’s brother, Mr. Milton Lenz. Preceding the processional, Mrs. L. C. Smith sang, “I Love You Truly.” The wedding march from the opera, “Lohengrin,” was played by Miss Dorothy Beach. The couple repeated their vows before an arch of green and white ornate with flowers and ferns. A large wedding cake and cut flowers decorated the tables.

The bride was attired in a floor length white satin gown. White satin rosettes and a high collar at back gave accent to the neckline. A row of covered buttons trimmed the back and the sleeves ended in long points over the hand. A long veil edged with Chantilly lace was caught to a lace coronet ornate with orange blossoms and seed pearls. Her bouquet consisted of roses, sweet peas and swansonia. The bridesmaid wore a dress of Nile green chiffon. A spray of green and silver berries was caught in the side of her hair. Her bouquet consisted of roses, carnations and babies breath.

A six o’clock dinner was served to twenty-five guests at the home of the bride’s parents. Those from away included Miss Nina Anderson of Fond du Lac, Mr. LeVern Lenz of Lansing, Iowa, Miss Margaret Fandry and Mr. and Mrs. John Lallathin of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. John Buchholtz of Wausau, Carl Anderson of Sacramento, Cal., Mrs. Ben Marti and daughter of Lansing, Iowa.
