Plath, Herman William (30 June 1854 – 4 May 1945)

Spencer – Funeral rites for Herman William Plath, 91, who died early Friday morning, May 4, after a week’s illness were conducted Monday afternoon, May 7, at 2 o’clock at Trinity Lutheran Church, preceded by a short service at the Swarthout Funeral Home. The Rev. A. C. Stapel officiated and burial took place in West Spencer cemetery.

Pallbearers were Otto, Fred and William Stargardt, William Plath, Otto Krause and Herman Plath. Flowers were carried by Pauline and Bernice Stargardt, Ione Manthe and Bonnie Cary.

Henry Plath, an adopted son, who is employed by the Soo Line was unable to attend, and a grandson, Pfc. Orin Plath is with the Army in Germany.
