Wieting, Leona (Marriage – 28 June 1942)

In a double-ring ceremony, on Sunday, June 28, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, at two p.m., the Rev. Adolph Schumann of Globe united in marriage Miss Leona Wieting, Neillsville, and Frederick Schoenherr, Globe. Miss Schumann played the wedding march. After the ceremony, Miss Alice Lukas sang “Take Thou My Hand and Lead Me.”

They were attended by Miss Lydia Schoenherr, a sister of the groom, and Donald Wieting, a brother of the bride.

The bride was attired in a white slipper satin and lace. She wore a single-strand of pearls. Her veil was held in place with a seed pearl coronet and she carried a shower bouquet of white rosebuds and baby’s-breath.

Miss Schoenherr wore aqua blue slipper satin and carried a bouquet of white carnations and blue delphinium. The groom and best man wore dark suits with white rosebuds boutonnieres.

A wedding supper was served at the home of the bride’s parents to about thirty relatives, the color scheme of the home being blue and white. A three-tier wedding cake and cut flowers decorated the table.

Mrs. Schoenherr is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Wieting of Neillsville, the groom being a son of Mr. and Mrs. Erich Schoenherr of Globe. The young couple began housekeeping immediately at the home farm in Globe.
