O. Hoffmann officiating, when Miss Clara Theilig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Theilig, became the bride of Mr. Alex C. Winkel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Winkel. The bride was attired in a long white satin dress with large puff sleeves to the elbow and fitted to the wrists. Her shower bouquet consisted of roses, carnations and swansonia. The bridesmaid, Dorothy Winkel, cousin of the groom, wore a dress of pink taffeta and a headband of pink satin set with rhinestones. Her shoulder corsage consisted of pink asters and ferns. The maid of honor, Minerva Schultz, cousin of the bride, wore a dress of nile green barred marquisette with headband of nile green satin set with rhinestones. Her shoulder corsage consisted of pink asters and ferns. The groom was attended by Mr. Arthur Krueger and Mr. Elmer Meyer. This was also the 56th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. August Schulz, grandparents of the bride, and birthday anniversary of the groom’s grand mother, Mrs. G. J. Fuge, formerly of Brillion. During the ceremony, the girls’ quartet sang, “I Love You Truly.” A reception was held at the home of the bride, supper being served for ninety. The home was nicely decorated with pink, green and white streamers and garden flowers. In the evening, a wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion. The young couple will be at home immediately on a farm in the town of Green Grove. Out of town relatives here were Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Fuge of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mischowski and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Hause, all of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Fuge, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harsch, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Winkel and daughter, all of Chilton, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. George Heller and daughter of Hilbert, Wis., Miss Cecelia Ziegler and mother of Brillion, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Ben Winkel and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Winkel and daughter, all of Rice Lake, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Christ Winkell and family of Medford, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. John Mengel and daughters of Withee, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Winkel, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thieme and family, Mr. Arthur Krueger, all of Curtiss, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Schulz of Spencer, Wis., and Leonard Winkel of Stevens Point. The bride chose Saturday as her wedding day as it was also the fifty-sixth wedding anniversary of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. August Schulz, Colby, who were married at Colby September 4, 1881. Mr. Schulz, who was born in Brandenburg, Prussia, Germany, Feb. 14, 1853, came to the United States when 19 years of age and after spending four years in Sheboygan moved to Clark county and bought a tract of land in the town of Colby. By hard labor it was converted into a beautiful farm and it is now the property of their son, Ernest. In addition to his farm work Mr. Schulz engaged in the house moving business. Mrs. Schulz was born at Centerville, Manitowoc county, April 28th, 1860, and she came to the Colby community with her parents in 1876. About sixteen years ago they moved to Colby. Mr. and Mrs. Schulz have five children, Mrs. George Theilig, Colby, Mrs. Ben Smart, town of Hull, Ernest and George Schulz, town of ?. There are twenty-five grand children and nine great-grandchildren.
