Eder, Henry B. (14 Feb. 1870 – 20 Sept. 1937)

Henry B. Eder, a well-known farmer of the town of Hull, died at the Marshfield hospital at 2:15 P.M. Monday, September 20, after an illness of ten days, a stroke following cerebral hemorrhage being the cause of his departure to the heavenly goal. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 24th, at 9:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. L. J. Lang officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers will be Otto Baumgart, Godfrey Baumgart, Henry Weller, Paul Rucks, Hugo Hafeman and John Weix. Those in charge of the flowers are Rosalia Kanter, Marie Baumgart, Geraldine Marx and Margaret Wilkening.

Mr. Eder was born at Oshkosh, Wis., February 14, 1870, thus reaching the age of 67 years, seven months and six days. He came to Clark county with his parents when nine years of age and resided in the town of Green Grove. He attended Colby high school and clerked for nineteen years for A. H. Booth and Gust Schultz in the building now the Hotel Robinson. He was engaged in farming since 1908. He was interested in better farming and marketing and served as treasurer of the Central Co-operative Shipping Association, director of the Harmony Co-operative Produce Co., and held various school offices. He also was manager of the Harmony Co-operative Co. for several years and was a member of the M.W.A. for thirty-five years.

The deceased was married to Miss Lena Adrian at Colby Sept. 15, 1896, who with five daughters and two sons survive, namely – Vivian Eder of Madison, Floyd Eder of Colby, Mrs. E. J. (Geraldine) Dalton of Madison, Beatrice Eder of Medford. Two children preceded him in death. Also six grand children survive and the following brothers and sister: Joe Eder of East Orange, N.J., John Eder of Long Island, N.Y., Mrs. Thomas of Pittsburg, Pa.

The deceased was one of our prominent farmers, a good Christian, an indulgent husband and father and was on friendly terms with all.
