Surnames: Schulte, Janing, Schuh, Altenberger, Buchholz, Awe, Lipprandt, Eckes, Schroeder, Johnson, Neuman, Laux, Rahn Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 07/07/1938 Schulte, Mr./Mrs. Robert (50th Anniv. – 1 July 1938) Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schulte celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a family supper Saturday at the Otto Schulte farm, the same farm home where the couple began their married life fifty years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schulte resided in this city for twenty-four years and prior to that time were prominent farmers in the town of Colby, Shortly before their marriage, Mr. Schulte purchased a tract of 80 acres of land which by hard and diligent work they built into a splendid farm. In addition they acquired more land until the Schulte farm consisted of nearly 200 acres. Mr. Schulte was born in the town of Herman, Sheboygan county, on June 26th, 1859, and came to Clark county in April, 1879. Mrs. Schulte, whose maiden name was Paulina Janing, was born in Manitowoc county, July 15th, 1866, and came to Clark county a few years after Mr. Schulte’s arrival. They were married at Green Grove on July 1st, 1888. They have four children: Otto Schulte on the home farm, Mrs. Edward Schuh of Dixon, Ill., Ernest Schulte and Miss Luella Schulte of Milwaukee. One daughter died in infancy. There are seven grand children and two great grand children. Out of town guests present at the celebration were Emil Schulte and family of Dubuque, Iowa, Arthur Schulte and family of Marathon, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schulte and family of and Mrs. Clara Altenberger of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. August Buchholz, of Holcombe, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Awe of Atwood, Mr. and Mrs. R. Lipprandt of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schulte and daughter, Dolores and Miss Luella Schulte of Milwaukee, Mrs. Edward Schuh and son, LaVern, of Dixon, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. John Janing of Newton, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Eckes of Prentice, Mr. and Mrs. William Schroeder of Manitowoc, Mr. and Mrs. Evert Johnson and two children and Ruth and Dorothy Schulte, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Neuman, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Laux, Pauline Altenberger, Mrs. Martha Rahn and family.
