Surnames: Mead, Harms, Champman, Kroskson, Anderson, Fry Source: The Clark County Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 13 Aug. 1942 Mead, Shirley Ann (Marriage – 5 Aug. 1942) Miss Shirley Ann Mead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mead, Greenwood, was united in marriage to Max Harms, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fern Harms of Owen, in a ceremony performed by the Rev. J. L. Chapman at the Alliance Gospel hall at Spokeville on Wednesday evening, August 5, at 6 o’clock. The bride was attired in a green and cream silk jersey suit and wore a corsage of pink roses. Her attendant, Miss Helen Krokson, wore a street length dress of blue silk and a corsage of regal lilies. The best man was Fern Harms, Jr. Both he and the bridegroom worn pin stripe teal blue suits. During the ceremony Mrs. Maurice L. Anderson sang a vocal solo, “I Love You Truly.” Later a dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents to 24 guests, among whom were the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Edna Mead, Neillsville; the Rev. and Mrs. Maurice Anderson, Marshfield; and Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Harms and Mr. and Mrs. H. Fry of Owen. The bride is a graduate of the Greenwood High School with the class of 1942. The groom attended the Owen High School and is now employed by the Carnation Milk Company, at Owen. Mr. and Mrs. Harms left on a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin. After September 1, they will make their home in Owen. |
