Obit: Koerner, Selma (1885 – 1939)
Surnames: Koerner, Kind, Goetsch, Fakes, Brough, Erdman, Raddatz, Urling, Free, Kraut, Pagel, Hartwig, Pohl Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 04/27/1939 Koerner, Selma (19 Oct. 1885 – 25 Apr. 1939) Mrs. Erwin Koerner, whose maiden name was Selma Kind, died Tuesday, April 25th at 1:15 P.M., at the LeGault Hospital at Owen at the age of 54 years, complications being the cause of her departure. She had been ill six years. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church at Green Grove, Rev. M. C. Goetsch, officiating, and internment will be made in the Green Grove cemetery. The deceased was born at Wiley, Minn., Oct. 19, 1885, and was married to Chas. Fakes at Green Grove, Wis., in 1901. Chas. Fakes died in 1929, and in 1929, she was married to Erwin Koerner and moved to the village of Curtiss where she made her home since and was loved by everybody for her kindness. She leaves to mourn four sons and six daughters. They are Arthur Fakes of Green Grove, Walter and Raymond Fakes of Columbus, Wis., Albert at home, Mrs. Josephine Brough of Sandra Fel, California, Mrs. Anna Erdman of Dorchester, Mrs. Ida Raddatz of Milwaukee, Mrs. Irene Urling of Westboro, Mrs. Anita Free of Cedarburg, Miss Etta Mae Fakes of Milwaukee. Also three step children, Clarence of Colby, Miss Linda Koerner of Milwaukee and Miss Helen Koerner at home. Also nineteen grand children. Brothers and sisters surviving are Adolf Kind of Curtiss, Otto Kind of Greenwood, Edward Kind of New Holstein, Mrs. Ida Kraut of Curtiss, Mrs. Emma Pagel of Chilton, Mrs. Lena Hartwig of Milwaukee and Mrs. Gusty Pohl of Curtiss.
