Daley, William (27 May 1889 – 29 Nov. 1939)

William Daley of Abbotsford suffered a heart attack last week Tuesday evening while at a hunting camp near Tripoli and another attack on Wednesday morning causing his death. With him in the hunting party were his wife and only daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Randall of Appleton. The body was taken to the Zink Funeral Home at Abbotsford where it laid in state until Sunday noon when funeral services were conducted at the Abbotsford armory. R. H. Treat was in charge of the Masonic services at the armory and at the cemetery at Tomahawk where internment was made. Rev. L. C. Smith, Kimberly, former pastor of the Presbyterian church at Abbotsford, delivered the funeral sermon. Pall bearers were Dr. J. A. Rilling, Walter Jackson, Harry Ketcham, Benjamin Wing, F. B. Wing, Charles Hoffman, Paul Waech, Orrin Perry. Members of the Eastern Star carried the flowers.

Mr. Daley was owner of the Daley Super Service Garage in Abbotsford and was born in Mitchell, S. Dak., May 27th, 1889. He was married at Dorchester in 1913 to Anna Lamer. He lived in Abbotsford for the past twenty years. He was president of the village of Abbotsford for several years, was a member of the village board and was a member of the Masonic order and of the Eastern Star order.

Mr. Daley was well known in Colby and Abbotsford and will be remembered as a man who always endeavored to perform every duty he owed to God, his country, his family, his neighbor and himself.

Surviving are his wife and daughter, two grand daughters, his father, John Daley, and three brothers, Peter Daley of Kansas City, Mo., Charles Daley of Vallejo, Calif., and Webster Daley of Des Moines, Ia.
