Surnames: Anderson, Thompson, Erickson, Scidmore, Malik, Wotruba, Ashauer, Watson, Kofernus, Fricke, Wolf, Kraut, Lutz, Knies, Frane, Rice, Machlett ---Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 07/04/1940 Curtiss News Rev. and Mrs. W. Anderson and Mary Thompson and Ethel Erickson returned from the Bible Camp at Luther Park, Chetek. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Scidmore were on a fishing trip to Chippewa Falls Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Malik of Randolph, Wis., and James Wotruba of Milladore were here Saturday while enroute for Cassel for a weekend visit with Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Ashauer. L. A. Watson of Chicago was here on a business trip Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Art Kofernus moved to Stratford to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fricke will operate the tavern at Curtiss Corners. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wolf of Billings, Mont., were guests at the home of Frank Kraut. Miss Marion Lutz, who spent the past eight months at Wisconsin Rapids, returned home. Miss Lorraine Knies of Wausau will spend some time with her sister, Mrs. Ted Frane. Mr. and Mrs. Art Rice of Washington, D.C., are visiting at the Frank Machlett home. Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Ashauer and daughter, Francis, who have operated the Clover Farm Store in the Brown building for the past three years have moved their household goods and stock to Cassel, Wis., Saturday and will have a Clover Farm Store there. They made many friends during their stay here who regret their departure but wish them success. |
