Huber, Elsa (24 Feb. 1884 – 26 Oct. 1940)

Mrs. Henry Huber died Saturday morning at her home after having been ill with a heart ailment since last February. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at one o’clock at the home and at two o’clock at the Colby M. E. church, Rev. Harry Lee officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery.

Pall bearers were Joe Schilling, Harry Harter, John Borgemeon, Theo. Brill, Wm. Laughead and Wm. Yost. Those in charge of the flowers were Helen Yost, Margaret Brill, Josephine Brill, Mabel Schilling.

Mrs. Huber, whose maiden name was Elsa Brehm, and is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Brehm, was born in Sheboygan county on February 24, 1884, thus reaching the age of 56 years, eight months and two days. She was married to Henry Huber in Sheboygan on February 24, 1908. They lived in the town of Hull since 1909.

Surviving are her husband, her parents and six children – Mrs. Lillian Faas of Kohler, Mrs. Walter Dotter of Sheboygan, Mrs. Annette Pinnecker of Sheboygan, Audrey Huber of Colby, Roy Huber of Kohler, Jesse Huber of Colby. Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters – Alvin Brehm of Colby, Mrs. Otto Meves of Sheboygan, Mrs. Peter DeWitt of Sheboygan and Jess Brehm of Portland, Ore. Mrs. Beatrice Matson preceded her in death six years ago and a son died in infancy.

The deceased was a member of the Cherokee Women’s Association and took a keen interest in her home and community. She was a good Christian, always endeavoring to lend a helping hand when needed. She was well known in her community and well liked by all.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Meves, Mr. and Mrs. Peter DeWitt, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Brehm, Mrs. Edward Wierich, Mrs. Mary Dieterle, Mr. Lloyd Dieterle and Mr. and Mrs. Christ Huber.
