Crosby, Lenore (Marriage – 28 Dec. 1940)

Miss Lenore Crosby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Crosby, formerly of Colby now residing at Chippewa Falls, became the bride of Joseph Charboneau, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Charboneau, also of Chippewa Falls, on Saturday at Notre Dame church at that city. Father Sheridan, C. S. Sp., performed the service in the presence of relatives and friends.

During the ceremony Miss Anne Oliver sang a number of Christmas hymns.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was charming in a floor-length gown of white silk jersey, embroidered with gold thread. She wore a Juliette cap of white velvet with gold sequins fastened with velvet streamers and carried a muff of orchids. White sandals completed the bridal costume.

Miss Esther Gregerson, as bridesmaid, wore a gown of ice blue satin with a jacket embroidered with silver sequins. Her Juliette cap was fashioned of violet velvet and she carried a colonial bouquet of violets. Silver sandals were worn by the bridesmaid.

Fred Miner attended the groom and both wore dark suits with white gardenia boutonnieres.

A wedding reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents for 30 guests. A buffet supper was served after which Mr. and Mrs. Charboneau left on a wedding trip to Chicago. Upon their return they will reside in Chippewa Falls.

Out-of-town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Nyle Crosby of Cornell; Mrs. A. W. Follette of Ladysmith and Father Francis Thornton.
