Fleischmann, Virginia (Marriage – 25 Jan. 1941)

Miss Virginia Fleischmann of Abbotsford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fleischmann of Abbotsford, became the bride of Donald Kelty of Unity, in a ceremony performed by the Rev. J. A. Olson at 7:00 o’clock in the evening of her birthday, Saturday, Jan. 25th. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Kelty of Unity.

A princess-style dress of national blue satin with a flounced hemline and shirred waist was chosen by the bride for her wedding. With it, she wore a pearl necklace and bracelet. A shoulder veil of blue and a corsage of gladioli and sweet peas completed her ensemble.

Miss Lorraine Kelty, sister of the groom, attended as maid of honor in an American Beauty taffeta gown with a matching head band and a pearl necklace. Her corsage was similar to that worn by the bride. Glen Kelty, the bridegroom’s brother, attended as best man.

Following the ceremony, about 40 friends and relatives gathered at a reception at the home of the bride’s parents. National blue and American Beauty comprised the color scheme used in the decorations.

Out of town guests present at the wedding were Miss Verla Miller of Eau Claire, Terrence Foley of Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Kelty and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kelty of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kauffman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Kauffman, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kauffman and daughter, Betty, and son, Donald, and Mr. and Mrs. B. Gurney of Abbotsford and George Gurney and family of Colby.

Mr. and Mrs. Kelty are now at home to friends in Unity where the groom is engaged in farming.
