Wiegman, Eleanor (Marriage – 21 June 1941)

A pretty June wedding was solemnized Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock when Miss Eleanor Wiegman, daughter of Mrs. Martha Rahn, became the bride of Elmer Meyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meyer. The ceremony was performed at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church of Green Grove, Rev. M. C. Goetsch reading the marriage ceremony.

The bride was attired in a becoming gown of white velveray silk chiffon over satin, and her veil of silk illusion, finger-tip length, fell from a tiara of orange blossoms and baby’s breath.

In the bridal party were Miss Bernita Wiegman, only sister of the bride, maid of honor; Mrs. Merlin Wiegman, bridesmaid; Glenn Frome, best man, and Mr. Wiegman, brother of the bride, groomsman. The maid of honor wore a peach-colored gown of sparkle velveray chiffon, designed with a hoop skirt and trimmed with aqua velvet bows.

Mrs. Wiegman was dressed in aqua, fashioned in the same style as the gown worn by the maid of honor, with peach velvet bow trim. Both attendants wore matching veils, carried bouquets of mixed flowers, and wore pearl bracelets with rhinestone clasps, gifts of the bride.

The bride’s mother wore a rose romaine crepe dress with navy accessories and a corsage of mixed flowers. The groom’s mother chose a navy and white print dress, with which she wore white accessories and a corsage of mixed flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Domer sang “I Love You Truly” during the rites, and the bridal chorus from “Lohengrin” was played as the bridal party entered the church.

Thirty-five guests were entertained at a reception at the home of the bride’s mother following the ceremony. A profusion of mock orange blossoms, roses, and potted plants served as decorations.

In the evening a wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion which was largely attended by relatives and friends.

Mr. Meyer and his bride will be at home to friends after June 25th in the town of Colby, where the former is engaged in farming.
