Elbert, Sylvia Irene (October 11, 1911 - October 14, 2007)

Sylvia Irene Elbert passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, IA, at ninety-six years of age.

Sylvia was born October 11, 1911 in Monroe, WI, to John S. and Alvina (Blumer) Becker. After her father passed away when Sylvia was seven years of age, she went to live with her grandparents, Bertha and Henry Blumer in LuVerne, Iowa. She received her education in the LuVerne Schools and graduated in 1929.

She was married to Roland b. Elbert of Whittemore, Iowa on October 14, 1940 in Livermore, IA. Bud and Sylvia were in the fishing tackle business for many years. Bud passed away on June 20, 1990.

She is survived by a niece and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services were held October 17, 2007 at Turner Funeral Home, Spirit Lake, IA. Father James Smith officiated, with music by Wilma Clauson, organist.

Pallbearers were: Gail Moritz, Jason Moritz, Duane Gaudian, Chuck Swanson, Vern Buchman and Stan Mueller.

Interment was in Memory Gardens, Spirit Lake.
