Seelow, June Aurelia (Marriage – 1 Jan. 1943)

At 2:30 p.m. on New Years day, the Rev. N. J. Dechant of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church of this city performed a double ring ceremony which united in marriage Miss June Aurelia Seelow, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Seelow, and Leon Schnabel, son of Mrs. Alfred Schnabel, all residing in the rural territory adjacent to Neillsville.

The color scheme of the church and home decorations was red, white and blue. One hundred friends and relatives witnessed the ceremony while eight guests were invited to the home of the bride’s parents for the reception.

Miss Janice Milton sang “Oh Promise Me,” and “Because.”

The bride was attired in a white gown, her head dress being a sequin tiara. White carnations made up the bridal bouquet. Miss Berdella Seelow as maid of honor wore a blue gown with a yellow and white aster corsage. Mrs. Verlyn Schnabel acted as bridesmaid. The color of her gown was rose with a rose and white aster corsage. Kenneth Seelow was best man.

The bride’s mother wore black rayon crepe with gold trimming, while the groom’s mother wore blue crepe with white trimming.

The bride was educated in the school in her home district and in the Neillsville High School, later assisting her parents in the home. The groom, a young farmer, is employed at the Otto Warren farm.

The out of town guests included: Mrs. Porath and family, friends; Herbert Schnabel, a brother of the groom, and his wife, Granton; Mrs. Roy Markham, a sister of the bride, and her husband, and Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Markham, all of Milwaukee.
