North Grand Ave. – by Mrs. Ole Lowe

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Anding and son, Warren, of Lynn called on his sister, Mrs. Elsie Gress, a week ago Monday.

The Arthur Gress family, Mrs. Emily Gress, son, Donald, and Miss Evelyn Meihack spent New Year’s day at Globe with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hagedorn.

Mrs. Daisy Dahnert spent Friday afternoon (New York’s day) at the Ole Lowe Home. In the evening Mrs. Julia Dwyer, Miss Ollie Shafter and Mrs. Lizzie Schummel called there.

Mrs. Ole Lowe called on her brother, Gus Grap, and wife at the Kaiser Grap home last Wednesday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Markwardt entertained the Arthur and Harold Imig and the Fred Appleyard families at dinner on New Year’s Day.

Mrs. Susie Thoma and her granddaughter, Charlotte Ayers, spent a week ago Sunday at the Ole Lowe home.

Mr. and Mrs. Keuster had dinner with the Harold O’Brien family Sunday, helping Mr. O’Brien celebrate his birthday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Gulikson entertained Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Budde for supper Sunday evening.

Miss Lucille Froehlich, who spent the holidays at home, returned to her school duties at La Crosse Sunday.

Mrs. Peter Chopp, (the former Viola Grap) who went to South Carolina some time ago to spend the holidays with her husband, who is stationed at Ft. Jackson, writes to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Grap, that she is not at all impressed with the southern climate or scenery. She writes, “Give me good old Wisconsin any time.” Well, when Viola gets back she will find plenty of good old Wisconsin weather and the winter scenery leaves nothing to be desired.
