Surnames: Bogue, Hodd, Gerber, Pyatt, Koplitz ---Source: OWEN ENTERPRISE (Owen, Clark County, Wis.) 07/04/1940 Hogue, Cecil (30 JUN 1940) Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Bogue of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) announce the marriage of the daughter, to Robert Hodd, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Hodd of Withee on Sunday, June 30, 1940. The wedding vows were made in front of a blue and white bower in the bride’s home with the Rev. James Irish of the Methodist Church officiating. The single ring ceremony was used. The wedding party approached the altar to the strains of Wagner’s Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin played by Miss Ethel Hodd, sister of the groom. The bride wore a white satin and lace formal. A fingertip veil of white net with a white rose coronet completed her attire. She carried a bouquet of white bridal roses and ferns. The maid of honor, Edna Bogue, sister of the bride, wore a baby blue net formal with white roses in her hair. The two flower girls, Beverly Pyatt of Withee and Jean Gerber of Watseka, Ill., wore pink dresses and carried pink roses. The ring bearer, Darlene Pyatt, wore pink dresses and carried pink roses. The groom wore a business suit of dark blue and his best man, Harold Koplitz of Withee, wore a dark green suit. Immediately after the ceremony dinner was served to the guests and the wedding cake in four tiers decorated in white and blue served as the centerpiece of the bridal table. After the dinner, the bridal couple left on a short trip to Chippewa Falls and will be at home to their friends on the Charles Thompson farm, north of Owen. The out of town guests were Mrs. Bessie Rasmussen of Owen; Mrs. Willis Rasmussen of Perkinstown; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tompkins of Owen; Rev. and Mrs. James Irish of Thorp; and Mrs. George Gerber, sister of the bride, and three children, George, Jean and Bob of Watseka, Ill. The newlyweds received many lovely gifts and best wishes of all for a prosperous and happy wedded life. |
