Randt, Doris (Marriage – 11 July 1942)

Miss Doris Randt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Randt, and Elroy Leffel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Leffel, residents of the town of Frankfort, Marathon county, were united in marriage on July 11th in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church in the town of Wien. Rev. E. E. Malueg read the ceremony before an altar decorated with baskets of blue delphinium, sweet williams, larkspur, and cosmos.

The bride was attired in a dress of white rayon ninon. The long sleeves were gathered at the shoulders and the bodice was styled with a V neckline. A coronet headdress held her finger-tip veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses, carnations and larkspur combined with babies breath.

The maid of honor, Miss Eunice Randt, sister of the bride, was gowned in blue and wore a blue veiled headdress. Matching shoulder-length veils were worn by the bridesmaids, Miss Violet Barnowski, who wore pink, and Miss Ella Hoernke, who was dressed in yellow. Their frocks of marquisette, with a frosted lily of the valley pattern, were styled alike with flaring skirts and short, puffed sleeves. Matching ribbon streamers fell from the sweetheart shaped neckline. All three carried bouquets of snapdragons, larkspur, Shasta daisies and delphinium.

Leo Leffel attended his brother as best man and the groomsmen were Delmar Leffel of Colby, cousin of the bridegroom and Gordon Randt, brother of the bride.

A reception, attended by 80 guests, followed at the home of the bride’s parents, which was decorated with garden flowers and a canopy of pastel shades.

The couple will be at home to friends on the bridegroom’s farm east of Colby after August 1st.
