Bogue, Edna (29 AUG 1940)

The First Congregational Church, better known as the Little Brown Church in the Vale, at Nashua, Ia., was the scene of a pretty wedding on Thursday, Aug. 29, 1940, when Edna Bogue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bogue of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), was united in marriage to Harold Koplitz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koplitz. At two o’clock the bridal party marched down the aisle of the church to the strains of Lohengrin played by Mrs. Hansman, who presided at the organ. The couple met at the altar where marriage vows were exchanged before the Rev. F.L. Hansman. After the ceremony the music of the Little Brown Church in the Vale was played as a processional.

The bride was attractively attired in a suit dress of soldier blue and wore a wine colored hat and veil with wine accessories. Her flowers were a corsage of tuber and pink roses. Her bridesmaid, Myrtice, Koplitz, sister of the groom, was attired in a wine colored crepe dress and wore a wine colored velvet turban with veil and white accessories. Her flowers were a wrist corsage of white tuber and pink roses. The groom and his attendant, Glenn Tieman of Thorp, wore dark suits and a rose boutonniere.

The bride graduated from Withee High School with the class of 1938 and has acted as typist for the school and faculty.

The groom attended Owen High School and has since been employed on his father’s farm.

After a short trip through Iowa, they returned here where a wedding dance was given at Merry Ol’ Gardens Friday evening. A reception was held at the J. Bogue home Sunday evening for relatives and immediate friends.
