Surnames: Clifton ---Source: OWEN ENTERPRISE (Owen, Clark County, Wis.) 10/24/1940 Clifton, Leroy (28 AUG 1867 – 18 OCT 1940) Funeral services were conducted from the Stokes Funeral Parlors at Eau Claire Sunday, Oct. 20, for Leroy Clifton, 62, who passed away at his home in Eau Claire suffering from a paralytic stroke on Friday, Oct. 18, 1940. Interment was made in the Riverside Cemetery, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.). Leroy Clifton was born in New Richmond on the 28th day of August, 1867 (Cemetery stone say 1878). He is survived by his wife and one son, Clifford, of Eau Claire. The greater part of his life he spent in the barbering business. For a period of 20 years he was a barber in the village of Withee. Several years ago he worked with his brother, Percy, here in Owen for four years in his barber shop, after leaving and going to Bloomer where he was employed for a couple of years before illness forced him to retire from work. |
