Hanson, Donald & Valeria (60th – 21 Aug. 2005)

Donald and Valeria Hanson celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on August 21, 2005. A reception and dinner was held for family, relatives and friends at the Knights of Columbus Hall, followed by music and dancing. Original wedding attendants that were present are Eilene Weber, sister of bride; Gerald Bauer, brother of bride; Harold Hanson, brother of groom and Reuben Gessert, cousin of groom all of Marshfield. Donald and Valeria were married on August 22,1945 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville with Rev. Arthur J. Cramer officiating.

Donald was born July 23,1924 in Marshfield to Einor and Josephine Hanson. He attended Washington School in the Town of Rock and Marshfield Senior High School. Donald farmed with his parents. Valeria Bauer was born April 14, 1927 in Loyal to Edwin and Clara Bauer. She attended St. Anthony's School in Loyal and St. Mary's School in Bakerville. Valeria worked as a waitress.

After marriage the couple purchased the family farm and continued to farm for 50 years, retiring in 1995. Donald was a past president of the Central Wisconsin State Fair Association for 24 years and currently is the superintendent. He also drove school bus for 11 years and is currently employed part time at Power Pac Inc. Besides helping on the farm Valeria worked at Figi's, Woolworth Deptartment Store and was treasurer for the Town of Rock for 15 years. Valeria is currently employed part time at the entry office of the Central Wisconsin State Fair. The couple are members of Corpus Christi Catholic Church were they served on the parish council for several years. They are also members of pccw.

Donald and Valeria have three children. They are: Diane (Kenneth) Bonkoski of Neenah, Donna (Emil) Donoval of Sheboygan, and Kenneth (Becky) Hanson of Anoka, Minnesota. The couple also has five grandchildren; Jeffery Bonkoski, Andrea and Eric Donoval and Alicia and Jeremy Hanson.
