Schreiber, Mildred L. (Marriage – 6 March 1943)

Miss Mildred L. Schreiber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schreiber, Riplinger, Wis., and Arnold B. Copet, Spencer, Wis., R. F. D. 1, son of Mrs. Lillian Copet, Portage, Wis., and Mr. Fred Copet, Spencer, R. 1, were united in marriage at nine a.m. Saturday, March 6, 1943, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Colby, in the high mass service, Rev. Father L. Lang conducting the single-ring ceremony. There were about 22 guests present.

The bride wore a beige two-piece suit with brown accessories. Her maid of honor, Mrs. Ben Bruer, was attired in a forest green suit, with brown accessories and the bridesmaid, Miss Marie Schreiber, Wausau, Wis., wore a suit of olive green with black accessories. The bride and her attendants all wore corsages of pink rose buds and white sweet peas.

Ben Bruer, Unity, Wis., was best man. Elmer Miller also was one of the groom’s attendants. The men wore dark suits and white carnation boutonnieres.

The mothers of the bride and groom wore dark dresses with pink carnation corsages.

A wedding reception was held that afternoon at the home of the bride, followed by a wedding dance on Sunday, March 6, at Riplinger for which Lee Nelson’s orchestra furnished the music.

The bride is a graduate of the Unity High School with the class of 1942, her husband being a young farmer. They will make their home on a farm south of Riplinger.

The out of town guests included: Mrs. Lillian Copet, Portage, the groom’s mother; the following brothers and sisters: Mr. and Mrs. Leon Copet and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hoffmann, Miss Cecily Copet, Portage; Mr. and Rms. Royal Castner, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bruer, Unity; the bride’s sisters: Marie Schreiber, Wausau; Mrs. Arlie Terrio, Abbotsford; the grandmother, Mrs. John Kremsrieter and the following uncles and aunts: Mr. and Mrs. Konrad Kremsrieter and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Kremsrieter and family, all of Athens and Joseph Schmidt, Neillsville.
