Surnames: Rodgers, Lautenbach, Wendt, Fradette, Kren, Siedelman, Matousek, Macena, Kalas, Honzik, Zemba, Honzik, Filitz, Dahnert, Beeckler, Waterman, Scheel, Iverson, Schultz, Hagie Source: The Clark County Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 20 May 1943 West Levis – by Gladys Beeckler Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rodgers arrived Monday to spend some time looking after their farm here. Louie Lautenbach came home Thursday after being in the Marshfield Hospital several weeks. He is getting along nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Wendt and children spent Sunday at the H. Fradette home. There was a family reunion. The son, Raymond Fradette, left for an army training camp Monday. Harold Kren and wife from Camp Butler, N. C., spent Friday at the Siedelman home. Mr. and Mrs. L. Matousek, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Macena and Mr. and Mrs. James Kalas were supper guests at the Honzik home Sunday evening. After the regular meeting of the Z. B. C. J. Lodge Saturday evening, they gave a party in honor of Mother’s day. Mrs. Zemba was voted honorary mother. Mrs. Peter Honzik gave the address. Mrs. Zemba was presented a bouquet of African violets. The evening was spent in visiting and dancing. A fine lunch was served at midnight and everybody had a very good time. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Filitz and Grandma Filitz spent Sunday evening with the Herman Dahnert family. Pvt. Harold Kren and wife of Camp Butler, N. C., are spending a few days with his parents. Miss Daphne Beeckler, Mrs. Clark Waterman, Mrs. Orra Beeckler and Grandpa Beeckler of Granton were Sunday dinner guests at the George Beeckler home. The neighbors gathered at the W. Scheel home Wednesday evening for a shower and party for Mrs. Scheel and the new baby. Mrs. Roy Iverson was operated on for removal of the appendix Monday evening at Eau Claire. Mr. Iverson and daughter, Virginia, were up to see her Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Schultz spent Saturday evening at the Ed. Timmler home. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hagie spent Sunday afternoon with the Ed**rest cut off. |
