G. Laird, Portland, Ore., sends a Neillsville friend a clipping telling of the marriage of Jacqueline Jean Peltier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Shelon Peltier, to Delos Campbell Avery, son of Mrs. Blanche Avery, on the evening of March 17. The ceremony was performed in the West-minister Presbyterian Church of Portland before an altar, lighted by tapers and decorated in spring greenery. Dr. Perry C. Hopper officiated. The bride, wearing a white gown of satin tulle, with full bouffant skirt and fitted sleeves, was given in marriage by her father. She carried a bouquet of freesias and orchids. Miss Bonnie Marie Smith, the bride’s only attendant wore a yellow frock of taffeta and tulle and carried orange snapdragons. Kenneth Clifton was best man and Myran A. MacIntosh and D’Arcy Lane Hilton ushered. A reception followed the ceremony, at the home of the bride’s parents. Assisting about the rooms were Miss Elizabeth Ann De Lashmitt and Miss Eleanor Squires. The couple left on a brief wedding trip, returning to Portland to make their home. For traveling, Mrs. Avery wore a birch blue wool suit and tan top coat and black accessories. The bride is a granddaughter of Elmer Brown. She was born while Mr. and Mrs. Peltier lived with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brown, in Neillsville. |
