Kaczor, Helen (Marriage – 29 May 1943)

St. Constance Catholic Church, Chicago, was the scene of a very beautiful wedding Saturday, May 29, when Miss Helen Kaczor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kaczor, town of Washburn, Clark County, exchanged vows with Sergeant Leon J. Schultz, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schultz of Chicago.

The marriage ceremony was performed by Father A. Knitter and 10 o’clock mass was celebrated by Rev. E. Monday, Rev. B. Kantowicz, and Rev. J. Brzoyonski.

The bride entered the church on the arm of her father to the strains of the Lohengrin Bridal chorus, played on the organ by Conrad Cpawelkiewicz. The violinist was Clarence Piekarski, cousin of the groom. A soloist sang several numbers.

The bride was attired in a beautiful gown of white satin, with round neckline, trimmed with white sequins and pearls, falling into a very long train. Her long veil was edged with wide lace and lace ruffles falling into a long train, which was held in place by a tiara of bead pearls and rhinestones. She carried a cascade bouquet.

The groom wore his army uniform.

Josephine Mullaley, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She was dressed in a gown of pastel blue, made of lace, with full marquisette skirt. Her matching shoulder veil was held in place with a flowered tiara. The bridesmaids were the Misses Rita and Armella Schultz, sisters of the groom, and Miss Alice Schneider of Nebraska.

Edwin Czyzewski, cousin of the groom, was best man. He wore a tuxedo, as did the ushers, William Czyzewski, cousin of the groom, and John Kaczor, Jr., brother of the bride. Ringer bearer was Jimmy Fazbier, cousin of the groom, carried the rings on a heart-shaped satin and lace pillow.

Mrs. John Kaczor, mother of the bride, and Mrs. John Schultz both wore navy blue, with corsages of white carnations and red roses down the center.

The church was decorated with cut flowers and palms.

After mass and the wedding ceremony, a breakfast was served to 75 relatives and friends at the Ridgemoor club. A reception was also held at the club at 6 o’clock for 225 persons, and the evening was spent in dancing and visiting. Music was by a five-piece orchestra.

Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. John Kaczor, Mrs. J. Mullaley and son of Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kusch of West Allis.
