Hoeft, Gustav (6 Mar. 1884 – 15 July 1943)

Gustav Hoeft died at his home in Abbotsford last Thursday, July 15, at the age of 59 years, a stomach ailment being the cause of his death. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, where the body had been lying in state, and at the Christ Ev. Lutheran church at Abbotsford, Rev. Victor Brandt officiating, and internment was made in the Town Holton cemetery. Pall bearers were Hans Amacher, Walter Kuenzie, Frank Burnett, Henry Krueger, Helmuth Kirth and Henry Jacobi. Those in charge of the flowers were Evelyn Gosse, Juanita Gosse, Luceile Krueger, Marion Hoeft, Bernadine Hoeft and Audrey Hoeft.

The deceased was born in the town of Holton March 6, 1884. He was married to Anna Marks in 1915, and, shortly after their marriage, moved to Abbotsford where Mr. Hoeft followed the carpenter trade.

Surviving are his widow, three daughters and one son – Mrs. Jack Rogers of California, Mrs. A. J. Antenore of Chicago, Anita Hoeft and Lester Hoeft, at home.
