Hebert, Esther (Marriage – 26 June 1943)

A nuptial mass was celebrated last Saturday morning in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby for Miss Esther Hebert of St. Paul, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Hebert of Unity, and Anthony Nousse, also of St. Paul, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Nousse of Santa Monica, Calif., Rev. L. J. Lang officiated.

Two sisters of the bride, Mrs. Theo. Wagner of Stratford and Miss Genevieve Hebert of St. Paul served as her attendants. Mrs. Wagner, matron of honor, was gowned in blue sheer ninon and Miss Hebert in pink. They wore chapel veils to match their gowns and carried arm bouquets of pink roses. John Nousse of St. Paul served as best man and Clarence Hebert of Unity as groomsman.

The bride’s gown of white sheer ninon was styled with fitted bodice and a full skirt that ended in a long train. A cluster of orange blossoms held her finger-tip veil and she carried white roses and stephanotis.

Carrying arm bouquets of pink roses, Antoinette Hebert, a niece of the bride, dressed in pink taffeta, and Janet Woehrle, a niece of the bridegroom, in a frock of blue taffeta, were in the bridal party as flower girls.

The home of the bride’s parents was decorated with bouquets of roses and peonies and with streamers of pink, white and blue for the reception held later in the day for a number of friends and relatives.

Among those present from a distance were the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. John Nousse, Santa Monica, Mr. and Mrs. John Nousse and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Woehrle and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Aras and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hebert, Miss Genevieve Herbert and Donald Cenas, all of St. Paul, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hebert and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Wagner, of Stratford.

The couple will reside in St. Paul upon their return from a honeymoon at the northern lakes. The bride, who is a registered nurse, has been employed in St. Paul the past six years. The bridegroom is employed at the Ford plant in that city.
