Campbell George Harvey Campbell, 85, Eula, Texas, formerly of Neillsville, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at Lamun-Lusk Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring, Texas. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Neillsville City Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the Neillsville Veterans Council. Gesche Funeral Home is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements. He was born June 5, 1917, in Clark County to Ernest and Helen (Wilson) Campbell. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Oct. 15, 1940, serving during World War II in New Guinea, Papuan and Southern Philippines. He was honorably discharged July 31, 1945. Upon returning home, he worked for the city of Neillsville for many years before retiring in 1981. He is survived by a brother, Edward Campbell, Eula, Texas; a sister, Florence Anderegg, Randolph; and nieces and nephews. |
