Surnames: Pease, Laabs, Matthias, Novak, Peterson, Thieme, Etta, Pohl, Bast, Hamm, Harris, Anderson, Johnson, Peissig, Foltz, Krueger, Fahrenbach, Wredmond Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 12/30/1943 Curtiss - Dec. 30, 1943 Mrs. George Pease and son, Bobby of Wisconsin Rapids, and Fred Laabs of Chicago, spent Christmas with their father, F. W. Laabs. Mrs. Pease and son left on Sunday for Madison to spend the remainder of her vacation with her husband and son, Jackie, who had gone there to be with his mother. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Matthias and daughter, Rae Ann, and son, Harold Jr., Ashland, spent the holidays with Mr. Matthias’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Matthias. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Novak of Chicago, spent the holidays with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peterson. Sgt. Raymond Thieme and Sgt. Adolph Thieme of the U.S. Marines now stationed at Pearl Harbor, are spending a furlough with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thieme. The Marines, who have been together since their enlistment, have been in service 19 months and have been on several islands in the Pacific. Pvt. Arthur Peterson, meterorologist student at Carleton College, Northfield, Minn., spent Christmas with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Peterson, returning Sunday. Jean Etta, Manitowoc, spent Christmas with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pohl. Betty Bast, who makes her home with her grandparents, returned with her to spend the week-end. Pvt. Henry Hamm and Pvt. Byron Harris spent the holidays with their relatives in Hoard. Mrs. Wm. Anderson, Hoard, returned home Wednesday after a two weeks’ visit with relatives in Chicago. Carol and Iris Johnson, Chicago, spent the holidays with his son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Peissig, and with other relatives. Delores Foltz, Chicago, is spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Foltz. Velores and Veradean Krueger of Chicago, spent the holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Koerner. Holiday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Fahrenbach were their daughter, Miss Bernice, their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Wredmond, and their son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Fahrenbach, all of Chicago.
