(Marriage – 13 May 1944) Miss Myrtle E. Dahlke, daughter of Victor Dahlke, and Theodore Pflanzer, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pflanzer, were united in marriage on Saturday, May 13th, at St. Mary’s parsonage at Colby, Rev. L. J. Lang reading the marriage ceremony. The bride was attended by Elanor Lupinski of Athens as maid of honor and Marian Dallman and Virginia Seboe of Colby and Beatrice Dahlke of Edgar as bridesmaids. The groom was attended by Donald Zettler, Orville Fricke and Florian Writz. The bride was attired in a ninon gown with silk lace inserted, heart shaped neck line with train edged trimmed with silk lace and her veil with beaded crown. Her Molene heart bouquet consisted of white gladiolas. The maid of honor wore a dress of yellow taffeta with net skirt and blue bows. Her colonial bouquet consisted of assorted pink, yellow and blue flowers. The bridesmaids, Marian Dallman and Virginia Seboe wore dresses of pink and blue taffeta, respectively, short sleeves, heart shaped neck, full skirt of silk marquisette trimmed with bows of taffeta. Beatrice Dahlke wore a dress of yellow taffeta, three-fouths length sleeves, V neck, skirt of silk marquisette. The bridesmaids’ colonial bouquets consisted of assorted pink, yellow and blue flowers. A wedding reception was given at the home of the bridegroom’s parents, covers being laid for fifty people. The home was nicely decorated with pink, white, yellow and blue streamers and cut flowers. A large three-tier wedding cake adorned the table. The couple will be at home after May 20th, at Colby, Route 1, on the farm.
