Colby - Nov. 23, 1944

Mrs. Fred Dix, who suffered a heart attack, is up and about again.

Ed Benz, member of the Soo Line bridge crew now working near Superior, Wis., spent the week-end at his home here.

Clarence Pokallus left for Ft. Mead, Md., after spending a ten-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pokallus.

Mr. and Mrs. John A. Kupfer and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kupfer and son, Ronald, of Marshfield visited with Mr. and Mrs. John Schlimm Sunday.

Henry Runzheimer and Walter Runzheimer of Colby accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Weller of Marshfield to Milwaukee Friday where they attended the wedding of their daughter and sister, Miss Lita Runzheimer, formerly of Colby, which occurred on Saturday.

The following were dinner and supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Farning Sunday, Nov. 12, Sgt. Edward G. Farning, home on a 21-day furlough from overseas duty in Africa, Sicily and Italy, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gehreke and family and Jack Farning of Wausau and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Farning and family of Colby. After Thanksgiving Day, Sgt. Farning will report to Rochester, Minn., for further training.
