Waldhart, Margaret Valleria (Marriage – 1 Sept. 1945)

Margaret Valleria Waldhart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. C. Waldhart, and Roger Roland Kobs, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Kobs, were united in marriage Saturday, Sept. 1, at 11:45 A.M. at Zion Ev. Lutheran church in Colby, Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Phylis Waldhart, cousin of the bride, of Spencer, was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Della Gosse, cousin of the groom, Jean Neitzel, Mrs. LeRoy Thede, sister of the groom, and Jeanette Sicker, a girl friend of the bride. The groom was attended by Norman Kobs, brother of the groom, as best man, Wallace Waldhart, brother of the bride, Clyde Waldhart, cousin of the bride, LeRoy Thede and William Waldhart, Jr. Ushers were Pfc. Victor Gosse from overseas, a cousin of the groom, and Herbert Waldhart of Stetsonville, cousin of the bride. Wanda Stacke of Curtiss and Gilbert Waldhart, brother of the bride, acted as junior bridesmaid and groomsman.

The bride was attired in an entrained gown of slipper satin, long sleeves coming to points over the wrists, sweetheart neckline, lace inserts down the front and back of the dress. Her long veil edged with lace ended in two large bows on train. Her headdress was of a Dutch effect. She also wore two strands of pearls, a gift of the groom, and pearl ear rings. She carried a bouquet of roses and gladiolas.

The maid of honor wore a blue frock with satin bodice, full net skirt with three-quarters length sleeves, two strands of pearls and pearl ear rings, a gift of the bride. She carried a colonial bouquet. Miss Gosse wore a white formal with satin bodice, full net skirt with three appliquéd flowers down the front. Her matching headdress was a shoulder length veil. She also wore two strands of pearls and pearl ear rings, a gift of the bride. Jean Neitzel, Mrs. LeRoy Thede, Jeanette Stecker and Wanda Stacke all wore the same identical kind of dresses as Miss Gosse. All bridesmaids carried colonial bouquets. The mother of the bride wore a black sheer dress with matching accessories. Her shoulder bouquet consisted of white roses. The groom’s mother wore a sheer black dress with appliquéd sequins and matching accessories. She also wore a shoulder bouquet of white roses.

A reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents, the home being nicely decorated with white and blue streamers and cut flowers.

The newlyweds left on a wedding trip to the southern part of the state and will be at home after September ninth on the groom’s farm at Colby.
