Obit: Jacobs, William Jr. (1906 – 1940)
Surnames: Jacobs, Kocherer Source: THORP COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 06/27/1940 Jacobs, William Jr. (23 JUN 1906 – 20 JUN 1940) Wm. Jacobs Jr. of the town of Worde (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at the Mt. View Sanitorium at Wausau at one a.m. Thursday morning, June 20, 1940, after a lingering illness. He was born June 23, 1906 in Melrose Park, Ill. At the age of two years he came to Wisconsin with his parents and settled on a piece of wild land, which he and his father cleared, in the town of Worden close to their present home. Billy had been in poor health for some time but always remained cheerful and uncomplaining. He spent a week at the General Hospital in Madison a couple of years ago, but the doctors could only relieve the pain he suffered for a short time. He remained at home trying to do the farm work until his strength failed him. Last summer he entered the Sanitorium at Wausau for treatment. His memory will be cherished for his kindness to all. He was a good friend and neighbor. His father, Wm. Jacobs Sr., preceded him in death three years ago and a sister, Margaret, several years ago. He is survived by his mother, three sisters, Alice and Mabel of Thorp, and Minnie, Mrs. Ed Kocherer, a patient at the Mt Washington Sanitorium in Eau Claire. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. S. Genung of Stanley, at the Bogumill Funeral Home in Thorp on Saturday afternoon at two o’clock. The pallbearers were: Alex Soeller, Chas. Frinack, John Misfeldt, Paul Brunett, Bert Hubbard and Mike Clerf. Interment was made in the Reseburg Cemetery beside his father and sister. |
