Surnames: Mooney, Doxtater, Meacham, Salter, McFarland, Cook, Stewart, Anderson, Eder Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 05/09/1883 Unity - May 9, 1883 Many in this section are suffering with severe colds. Mr. Mooney is not much better at the present writing. Spring work is progressing finely, both indoor and out. Mr. Doxtater, of Plymouth, is in the village visiting his son. We are terribly afflicted with a sad case of the dutch measles. L. R. Meacham went up the line as far as Dorchester, last Wednesday. Mrs. R. B. Salter, of Colby, spent last Sabbath in our burg, a guest at Prof. Salter’s. Miss McFarland returned from Augusta, Saturday, and is again in the village as busy as ever. Miss Jennie Cook has been quite sick during the past week, but is somewhat better at the present writing. Lilly Stewart closed her first term of school, at Lamontville, last Friday. She will have a vacation of one month. S. A. Cook, of Neenah, was on our streets last week. There is some talk of S. A. moving his family to Colorado. Mrs. Anderson who has been dangerously ill at the home of her daughter, in this village is, we are glad to state, slowly recovering. Mr. J. H. Cook reached the gold mines of Colorado in perfect safety on Thursday of last week. He says his health is slowly improving. Geo.
