Thorp - Sept. 12, 1883

J. C. Duffy visited Eau Claire, last Thursday.

E. P. Brown took in the sights at Cadott, Saturday.

Ernest Arnold, lately of Eau Claire, is stopping here at his father’s.

Emmett Stone, brother of C. F. Stone, has returned to Thorp again.

Our path-master, Mr. Nels Courter, has graded the street from the post-office to the railroad.

Diptheria has not left us entirely. Its last victim was Freddie Brown, who died Wednesday, Sept. 5th.

The nights lately, have been quite cold. There is no garden stuff around here, that has not made the acquaintance of Jack Frost.

There was a pleasant little party at Henshall’s hall, last Thursday evening. Also one at the Eau Claire Company’s farm on Saturday evening. Quite a delegation went out there from here.
