O. Olson came down from Medford Monday. Manley Peterson and G. Pettibone were in Colby Saturday. F. H. Darling has moved into his residence on Main street. Boys, remember the grand opening ball at Flood’s hall New Years. The Unity high school closed last Friday for a vacation of two weeks. George Pettibone arrived from Butternut Thursday to spend the holidays. S. A. Cook, the Neenah merchant, transacted some business here last week. J. A. Pettet and Mrs. H. Butler have been on the sick list for the past week. Rob Rosenfeld went to Plymouth Monday, to spend Christmas with his parents. Miss Carrie Ransimer came home Saturday, to remain till after Christmas. Everyone seems happy now, and all on account of that heavy fall of snow last Sunday. Deputy sheriff J. W. Wicker was in town Monday with a prisoner from down the line. Dr. D. R. Freeman has opened an office two doors south of the Forest House, in F. Hugles building, where he will hereafter fill prescriptions. Mrs. John Peterson died Friday, Dec. 21st, 1883. She left a baby about a week old. The burial took place on Sunday, Rev. Chalfant preaching the funeral sermon. W. F. Cutts had the misfortune to lose his only cow last week. She became entangled in her rope and threw herself during the night, and next morning he found her dead. J. Remmiger wishes to dispose of his village property situated on East Railroad street, consisting of a dwelling house, two lots and a shoe shop, for which he asks $300.00. Now is the time for some one to secure a good location. The Sunday School concert and Christmas tree Monday evening was a decided success.
