Unity - June 4, 1884

C. Healy has just received a car load of choice potatoes from below.

D. McMiller and wife returned from their wedding trip, Saturday.

E. B. Vaughn and wife and Mrs. E. T. Petrie took in Stevens Point, Tuesday.

F. J. Gosney, business agent for Oglesby’s Troubadors, stopped over Sunday in town.

Jacob Healy has purchased three lots on the west side and has commenced clearing the same.

Charles Groelle went to Manitowoc last week to obtain a short respite from business and visit with old friends.

The Central Company are grading up their road in good shape. They have three gravel trains at work at present.

The people are talking strongly of having a grand celebration here, 4th of July. Look out for particulars next week.

Louis Black returned from below last Tuesday, bringing with him a wife to share with him the joys and sorrows of his life.

Having found efficient hired help, J. A. Pettet has again opened the Pettet House, and is having his usual run of custom.

Anna Toothaker gave a birthday party to her young friends last Thursday evening. It was well attended and enjoyed by all.

Mrs. Chas. Anderson came down from Dorchester the fore part of last week to visit with her parents and returned Saturday.

Unity is booming – in population, and Ans Crosier is a happy man: cause, a nine pound boy at his place. Mother and child are doing finely.

A. J. Wood, foreman of Rosenfeld & Neumann’s mill, was called to his home in Spencer, Monday, by a telegram stating his daughter was very sick.
