Buehlman, Anna (Marriage - 26 MAR 1914)

On Thursday afternoon, March 26, 1914 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Will Allen, occurred a pretty and unusual event, a double wedding. The two brides were the sisters of Mrs. Allen, Misses Martha and Anna Buehlman, who have been visiting here the past month and who have impressed all who have met them with their delightful personality.

The fortunate young men were Mr. Percy L. Kingman, who secured Miss Martha Buehlman as his bride, and Ross Bublitz, who was wedded to Miss Anna Buehlman. Both the grooms reside in Thorp, Clark County, Wis. , which is also the home of the brides.

At four o'clock the stains of Mendelssohn's wedding march were heard played by Miss Dorothy Reincke. In a beautifully decorated room, adorned with pink and white carnations, the happy couple stood up and the services were read by Rev. Father McConnachie. Following the ceremony a three-course dinner was served and then the four "newlyweds", accompanied by numbers of well wishers, went to the Northwestern Station, where they boarded the evening train for Minneapolis. From the Twin Cities the couples will travel to Thorp, where they will make their homes.

The costumes of the brides, their wedding gowns and traveling gowns, were alike. In most all instances the wedding presents for both were similar. The bridal gowns were of white embroidered voile, trimmed with pale mescaline, the folds caught up with pink rose buds. Both of the happy young women carried bouquets of bridal roses and they presented a very pretty picture. (Redfield Journal Observer)
