Anna T. Leader MEDFORD -- Anna T. Leader, 97, of 135 S. Gibson St., Medford, formerly of 306 Conrad Drive, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at the Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford with the Rev. John Melke officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen II Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Allan Jochimsen, Mike O'Brien, Dale Jochimsen, Tom Leader, Tim Leader, Kevin Henrich, Brian Henrich and Rod Henrich. Honorary pallbearers are Cindy Gilgenbach and John O'Brien. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at the Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home, Medford, and from 1:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Anna was born Feb. 5, 1909, in the town of Greenwood to Martin and Anna (Klein) Steen Sr. She attended Green Grove Graded School in the town of Greenwood, where all the subjects were taught in German. She received an award for reading in May 1922. On Aug. 11, 1926, Anna was united in marriage to Edward A. Leader at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. Anna and Ed moved to the city of Medford in 1958 after selling their farm to their son Marvin. Anna was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford and had been a member of the Medford Senior Citizens. Before moving to Medford, she had been a member of the Ladies Aid for Trinity Lutheran Church in Whittlesey. Anna's hobbies included fishing with her husband Ed, sewing, making quilts, knitting socks and mittens, and gardening and canning. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Verna Jochimsen of Medford, Marlene (Lester) O'Brien of Birchwood, Carol (Harold) Henrichs of Medford; one son and two daughters-in-law, Edward (Connie) Leader of Birchwood and Mary Ann Leader of the town of Browning; and her sister, Louise Mueller of Medford. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Leader on Jan. 11, 1993; one son, Marvin Leader; one grandson, Jerry Jochimsen; one great-grandson, Jack Henrichs; and four brothers and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Anna Leader may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
