Surnames: Baumgartner, Flage, Greub, Reusch, Lindow, Tanner, Frome, Young, Schraufnagel Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 12/02/1948 Baumgartner, Mr./Mrs. John (50th Anniv. – 29 Nov. 1948) Relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Baumgartner at Dorchester Sunday and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Baumgartner were married at Montecello on November 29th, 1898, and spent the next five months on a honeymoon in Switzerland. When they returned, they lived in Iowa for two years and then moved to Humbird. In 1918 they came to Colby and resided here until 1945. Since then, they lived in Dorchester. Mr. Baumgart is 72 years of age and Mrs. Baumgartner is 71. They have four sons, 17 grand children and five great grand children all of whom were present for the occasion except three great grand children. Dinner and supper was served the following: Mr. and Mrs. John Baumgartner and family of Waubin, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baumgartner and family of Chili, Mr. and Mrs.Walter Baumgartner and family of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Baumgartner and family of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Flage and Mr. Robert Baumgartner of Postville, Iowa, Lucille Baumgartner of Milwaukee, Mae Baumgartner of Marshfield, Sebastian Baumgartner of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Baumgartner of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. John Greub of Humbird, Mr. and Mrs. William Reusch, and Carol Jean Lindow of Chili, Rudy Tanner of Greenwood, Rueben Frome and Dorothy Young of Colby, Gayle Schraufnagel of Abbotsford. Table decorations were in gold. The four sons presented their mother with a plaque with 50 silver dollars wrapped in gold paper. They also received many other beautiful gifts from children, relatives and friends.
