Hoggard, Agnes C. (3 MAY 1941)

Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Hoggard of Grove Park, Ill. announce the marriage of their daughter, Agnes Cecelia, to Lawrence Gerard Fagan, son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Fagan of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), which took place in Petersburg, Va., Saturday, May 3, 1941, at 8:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the ceremony being performed by Rev. J.J. Brocktrop, pastor of the church. During the ceremony, Schubert’s Ave Maria, was softly played by Miss Murray, the church organist.

The birde entered on the arm of her father, by whom she was given in marriage. She was becomingly attired in a suit of antique blue, trimmed with silver fox, with corresponding accessories and her corsage was of orchids.

Her maid of honor and only attendant, was her sister, Miss Mary Hoggard, who wore a street dress of midnight blue with navy accessories and had a shoulder corsage of sweetheart roses and lilies of the valley.

The groom had as his best man, Joseph Smullen of Portsmouth, Va.

Later in the evening a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hoggard for the bridal party and a number of friends who accompanied the young couple to Petersburg.

After a short bridal trip Mr. and Mrs. Fagan will reside temporarily with the bride’s parents in Grove Park.
