Mabel E. Bronk

ABBOTSFORD -- Mabel E. Bronk, 90, formerly of Marshfield, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at the Continental Manor in Abbotsford.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Manickam officiating. Suzanne Golden will be the organist along with John F. Binder and James W. Eckes as the vocalists.

Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield.

Visitations will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mabel was born on Aug. 12, 1916, in Durand to Joseph and Lena Bilderbach. She was united in marriage to Clarence Blattler in 1934 and he died June 26, 1943. She then married Isador J. Bronk on Aug. 8, 1944, and he died on Dec. 24, 1977.

She was a dynamic person. She was the one in charge of most of the family-related decisions. She was strong in her faith and very involved with church activities. Mabel loved her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, fishing, cooking, card playing and helping family and friends. Mabel knew what had to be done and did it.

She is survived by three sons, Clarence Blattler of Monmouth, Ore., Francis Blattler of Helena, Mont., and Kenneth (Carol) Blattler of Curtiss; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by three sisters, Lena Thompson of Eau Claire, Frances Fedi of Atlanta, Ga., and Wilma Nelson of Oconomowoc.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; two sons, Charles and Allen; two grandsons; one brother, Charles Bilderbach; and three sisters, Lucy Kern, Alice Hill and Ruth Bauer.
