Beil, Genevieve Ann (Marriage – 21 Aug. 1948)

Genevieve Ann Beil, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Steiner, and Emanuel Francis Firnstahl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Firnstahl of Colby, exchanged marriage vows Saturday morning, August 21, at a nine o’clock nuptial mass in St. Bernard’s Catholic church at Abbotsford, Rev. Francis Bushmann officiating.

In the bridal party were the maid of honor, Miss Patricia Beil of Marshfield, sister of the bride; the bridesmaids, Mrs. Margaret Firnstahl, sister in law of the groom, and Miss Delores Firnstahl, his sister, both of Colby; the best man, William V. Beil of Abbotsford, an uncle of the bride; the groomsmen, James Firnstahl, a brother of the groom, and Jake Hedler, both of Colby. Another brother of the groom, Paul Firnstahl, was usher.

For her wedding the bride chose a gown of white net over satin. A sweetheart neckline and long sleeves pointed at the wrist, featured the bodice, and the skirt swept into a full-length train. Her veil was caught to a beaded headdress. Her bouquet consisted of white gladioli and red rosebuds.

The maid of honor wore a pink formal, the full skirt of net being topped by a satin bodice. Her headdress and other accessories were in the same shade, and her bouquet was of gladioli and roses. The bridesmaids’ frocks were made in similar style, Mrs. Firnstahl wearing yellow and Miss Firnstahl, blue. Both had accessories to match, and similar bouquets.

A wedding breakfast was served the bridal party at the Steiner home and later a wedding dinner was served to more than 40 guests. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Firnstahl and children, Margaret Ann and Daniel, Mr. and Mrs. James Firnstahl and Mr. and Mrs. Art Feind of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schultz of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. John Schreiber of Milan, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hoppa, David and Frank Hoppa of Neillsville, Jean Ann and Joan Nancy Hoard of Mosinee, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown and family of Boscobel, William Keding and Lee Newcomb of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Perry of Madison, S.D., and Phylis Essex of Marshfield.

After their return home from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Firnstahl will make their home in Colby, where the former is employed by the Johnson Block Co. He attended St. Mary’s School and the Colby High School, while his bride is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School.
