Podevels, Marie Anna (Marriage – 11 June 1952)

Miss Marie Anna Podevels of Milwaukee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene C. Podevels of Colby, and Bernard J. Dahlke of Milwaukee, son of Bernard Dahlke of Edgar, were united in marriage Wednesday morning, June 11, in the rectory of St. John’s Catholic church in Edgar, Rev. Oscar J. Cramer reading the marriage ceremony. Beverly Grammer served as her cousin’s maid of honor and Miss Marjorie Podevels of Colby, sister of the bride, and Miss Dorothy Dahlke of Edgar, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids.

The bride was attired in an off-the-shoulder gown of double net over satin with Chantilly lace. Her net veil was attached to a white headdress featuring a pearl crown. The maid of honor wore a blue dress of Chantilly lace and nylon net-over-taffeta styled with a lace bodice. A taffeta sash marked the waistline. Both the bride and her attendant carried bouquets of red roses, white carnations and lilies of the valley caught with white lace formal and Miss Dahlke’s yellow one and streamers, Miss Podevels pink were both styled identically to that of the maid of honor. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of roses to match their gowns and white carnations. Mrs. Podevels was attired in a maroon checked ensemble accented with a corsage of white carnations and pink roses.

A reception and supper were held in the afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Podevels.

The bride is a graduate of Colby High School and the groom attended Edgar High School. Both are employed at Cutler-Hammer in Milwaukee.

After a honeymoon in Northern Wisconsin, they will reside at 10232 West Bungalow Parkway, Milwaukee.
