Surnames: Anderson, White, Holub, Dahnert, Neff, Aberle, Horton, Siedelman, Kren, Syth, Zickert, Andregg, Schultz, Meier, McCarthy, Subke, Neilson, Berret, Wendt Source: The Clark County Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 14 Oct. 1943 West Levis – Gladys Beeckler Mr. and Mrs. Harry Anderson drove to Merrillan Friday and spent the evening with the Vance Bates family. Mr. and Mrs. Norman White and Leonard and Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Holub visited at the Harry Anderson home Sunday. Mrs. Anna Dahnert called on Mrs. Charles Neff Friday. She reports Mrs. Neff looking fine and gaining strength every day, after the long siege in the hospital. The H. Aberle family moved from the Victor Horton house to Neillsville last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dahnert spent Sunday evening at the Seelow home. Mrs. H. Siedelman entertained the following at six o’clock dinner Friday evening. Pvt. Harold Kren of Camp Butner, N. C., and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kren. Mrs. Don Syth spent Tuesday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Dahnert, while her husband was on the jury. Mrs. Henry Dahnert accompanied her brother to Fond du Lac and is visiting her parents and other relatives there. Mrs. Curtis Zickert and children and Mrs. Dick Andregg spent Sunday at the Siedelman home. Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Holub spent Monday evening at the H. Meier home. Mrs. Walter Schultz and Mrs. Harold Kren visited the Siedelman-Keller families Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dahnert attended a husking bee at Donald Syth’s place at Greenwood Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Holub, Mrs. Joe Holub, Sr., and Mrs. Lillian McCarthy visited the George Holub family. Corporal Fred McCarthy is now stationed in New York. Mrs. Fred Subke on Friday accompanied Mrs. Neilson to Chicago, where she will spend a few days visiting relatives. Victor Horton was down from Chetek Sunday and moved the furniture from his house. Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Holub, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Holub, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Holub, Mrs. Fred McCarthy and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Holub, Sr., helped Mrs. Marie Matousek celebrate her birthday Friday evening. Mrs. Oscar Brandt and Mrs. Mertie Berret of Greenwood visited the Alvin Wendt home Friday.
