Surnames: Boock, Rose, Korth, Oelrich, Schmidt, Johnsrud, Plath, Reineking Source: Marshfield News Herald (Marshfield, Wood County, Wisconsin) Friday, 5 May 2000 Boock, Marian (7 Mar. 1911 – 3 May 2000) SPENCER – Marian Boock, 89, formerly of Spencer, died May 3, 2000, at River Falls Area Hospital in River Falls. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Karl Rose will officiate. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Community Funeral Home and again from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Marian was born March 7, 1911, in Wausau, to Frank and Wilhelmina “Minnie” (nee Korth) Oelrich. She married Norbert Boock on April 3, 1937, at Trinity Lutheran Church. For the first ten years of their married life, they lived in Minneapolis before returning to Spencer to live. Marian helped her husband in his insurance and tax business in Spencer. She also worked many years as a cook at the Spencer schools. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed reminiscing with Spencer school students, friends and family. In her retirement years she enjoyed traveling, entertaining, card club, baking and gardening. Marian is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (Rev. Fred) Schmidt of Dundas, Ontatio, Canada; two sons, Dave (Cheri) Boock of Ephraim and Jerry (Darcy) Boock of River Falls; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters Lil (Al) Johnsrud, of Spencer and Bonnie (Bill) Plath of Danbury; and one brother, Ted (Anne) Oelrich of Minocqua. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norbert, on Feb. 7, 1997; one sister, Eleanor Reineking; and two brothers, Elmer and Wilmer Oelrich. Memorials may be given in her name to Trinity Lutheran Church of Spencer to the Lutherans Hour.
