Loos, Anna (20 Mar. 1872 – 28 Sept. 1952)

Mrs. Anna Loos, who had been making her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Loos, died at home Sunday morning at 10 o’clock. Funeral services will be held this Thursday morning at 11:00 o’clock at the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. Franz Paul Puhlmann of Jackson, Wis., former pastor here, officiating, and burial will be made in the Colby cemetery. Grand sons will be pall bearers – Darrel Loos of Colby, Leslie Williams of Abbotsford, Eugene Allar of Unity, Herbert Sauer of Medford, Carl Schuante of Hartford and Howard Lueloff of West Bend. Flowers will be in charge of grand daughters – Emilie Loos of Colby, Diane Williams of Unity, Mrs. Leslie Williams of Abbotsford, Mrs. Eugene Aller of Unity and Mrs. Herbert Sauer of Medford.

Mrs. Loos, nee Anna Voelker, was born on March 20, 1872, in the town of Scheleswig, Manitowoc county, where she married William Loos on March 26, 1894. They moved to Colby in 1905 and settled on a farm in the town of Colby. Her husband passed away in 1940. A daughter, Flora, and an infant son also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Walter; three daughters, Mrs. Lilah Lueloff of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Edgar (Eleanora) Williams and Mrs. Ervin (Erma) Fischer of Unity; three brothers, William and August Voelker of Colby and Herman Voelker of Kiel; one sister, Mrs. Helen Stoelling of Kiel; 16 grand children; 17 great grand children. One brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. Loos was a faithful member of the First Evangelical and Reformed church as well as the Women’s Guild of that church. She was of a congenial and kindly disposition, honest in all her dealings, and will be remembered for her many virtues by members of her family and friends.
